ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT

MANCHESTER CITY CENTRE / HYBRID AFTER 3 MONTHS

As an Accounts Assistant, you'll be working closely with the Financial Controller and taking on responsibilities such as; Sales Ledger (10 per week) / Purchase Ledger (50 to 100 Per Week), Bank Reconciliation, Account Reconciliation, Setting Up Purchase Orders, Expenses, Credit Card Receipts and VAT Returns. THE ACCOUNTS ASSISTANT ROLE:

  • As an Accounts Assistant / Finance Assistant, you'll be working within a small team of 3, working for a highly experienced Financial Controller and supporting the department.
  • Responsible for creating Sales Invoices for clients (around 10 per week) and sending to clients, answering queries where required.
  • Posting Purchase Ledger invoices­ (circa 50 to 100 per week), checking against Purchase Order / PO Numbers to ensure that they are accurate.
  • Setting up PO Number and new suppliers on the system
  • Liaising internally with departments with regards to Sales Ledger/Purchase Ledger queries
  • Bank & Account Reconciliation to ensure the system is accurate.
  • Management of Employee Expenses and the Credit Card Expenses.
  • Assisting with the VAT Return.

THE PERSON:

  • Must have experience in an Accounts Assistant or Finance Assistant role (or similar).
  • Experience of Sales Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Bank Reconciliation is essential.
  • Ideally have used Xero accounting software, but open to considering candidates who have used other modern accounting software.
  • Proficient with MS Office, including MS Excel.
  • Must be working towards AAT Level or be already working towards achieving the qualification.
  • You'll need to be highly organised with a keen eye for deadlines and have the confidence to communicate with other departments.
